"Report from New Orleans" by Steve and Carmen Estrada

Steve Estrada and his daughter, Carmen, spoke about what they experienced as volunteers with a group that is helping people in New Orleans rebuild their lives. They said that, while it is important to do the physical work of rebuilding houses, it is even more important to bear witness to the stories of those who lost everything. Even though many people already have replaced the houses they lost, they, themseles, are not yet made whole. Everywhere, people would say, "Please, don’t forget us."
