Jacqie’s Spiritual Autobiography: Jacqie read her spiritual autobiography with the aid of a
power point presentation that included pictures of many of her own watercolor paintings. She
was warmly and enthusiastically welcomed into Stewards.
Rolling Ridge: Margreta led a discussion on our long-term relationship with Rolling Ridge.
Seekers is a partner in the Retreat House and, as a partner, we have the use of the retreat
house for four weeks and four weekends a year. Margreta proposed that Seekers be a partner
in Stillpoint. Many questions were raised including cost and benefits of such an investment,
possibility of shifting part of the ownership from the Retreat House to Stillpoint as well
as possibility of renting if we don’t own. Consensus was that there is enough interest for
Margreta to continue the conversation and to get more details of a possible investment.
Two Stewards to Share: Deborah and Kate shared.
Sunday School: Living Water Mission proposed that Seekers hire a Wesley or VTS student in
Christian Education to take over the children’s Sunday School. Several Stewards expressed
misgivings with the idea as well as grief that Sunday School teachers or coordination not be
drawn from our own church body. Discussion expanded into the Children’s Word and the
problems relating to the reactions of the congregation. It was decided that these issues
need to be on a future agenda for a deeper discussion.
