Minutes of the Stewards Meeting
December 2, 2012
Present – Peter Bankson, Marjory Bankson, Ken Burton (moderator), Lewise Busch (angel), Pat Conover, Cynthia Dahlin, Dave Lloyd (worship leader), Sandra Miller (angel), Trish Nemore (recorder), Brenda Seat, Keith Seat, Margreta Silverstone, Deborah Sokolove, Jacqie Wallen
Worship – Dave Lloyd led worship, playing Mary Chapin Carpenter’s Come Darkness, Come Light” and asking us what we want to come this Advent.
Housekeeping – The next Stewards meeting will be January 6 at Seekers Church starting at 5:00 p.m. Keith will moderate, Sandra will record, Margreta will lead worship, and Cynthia and Marjory will serve as dinner angels.
Budget – The 2013 budget was approved with little discussion. It included changes to the draft budget that had been recommended by Stewards at the November meeting.
Designation of Christmas Offering – SLT recommended two families and one individual within the larger Seekers family to receive the Christmas offering and proposed the portions to go to each. Stewards approved this recommendation.
Two Stewards to Share – Lewise and Marjory shared about their current journeys.
Soul Talk – Various Stewards shared during Soul Talk.
Christmas celebration – After dinner at a festively decorated table (thanks to Cynthia), we shared stories that meant Christmas to us and, after each of us wrote a blessing on a gift tag, played a game of trying to identify which among us wrote which blessing, both activities organized by Cynthia. Great thanks to Cynthia for her ongoing willingness to organize this annual celebration and for the cleverness and fun with which she does it.
