Seekers Church October 13, 2024 Stewards Meeting

Meditation: For the meditation John played a recording of a Debussy composition featuring a
flute.
Housekeeping: next meeting will be on the 2 nd Sunday of the month, November 10 th , in person
at 4 p.m. Deborah will moderate, Joan will offer a meditation, and Ken will be the recorder. The
main items of business will be the review of the 2025 draft budget, the review of the 2025 draft
calendar of Stewards meeting, and Sandra’ sharing.
Spiritual Autobiography: Jeanne Marcus read her spiritual autobiography and was welcomed as
the newest Steward.
Recommitment review: All of the Stewards except Elizabeth Gelfeld announced that they plan
to recommit on October 20. Margreta informed the Stewards that she will be leaving the
Servant Leadership Team in December and will be moving permanently to Washington state in
the late spring of 2025.
Consideration of a change in the language of the commitment statements for Stewards and
members, respectively (attached): Margreta led a discussion of a proposed change in the third
bullet of the members’ commitment statement and in the fourth bullet of the Stewards’
commitment statement: “Foster justice and be in solidarity with the poor all who are in need;”.
Of the three Stewards who voted against the change, Dave Lloyd chose not to step aside. There
will be further discussion with him about this proposal.
Budget input for 2025 budget: On behalf of the Financial Oversight Group, Marjory reminded
everyone to submit their mission group or ministry team budget line item request by October
31.
Following the meal, all Stewards shared their pastoral concerns.
Jacqie and Marjory shared their annual spiritual report.
