Stewards Minutes
January 2, 2022 (Final)

Opening: Joan opened the meeting at 5:05 PM.
Meditation: This meeting’s meditation was led by Trish and others, who read a piece by Sonya Dyer about servant leadership.
Housekeeping: Stewards will next meet on Sunday, February 6 at 5:00 PM on Zoom.

Cynthia announced that she will not be present.
CreatureKind Revised Statement: Peter reported for the current working group. The revised statement was circulated before the meeting and is attached to these minutes.Concerns were raised about the scope of the document as it relates to the reducing the consumption of animal products and the Seekers commitment to care for every part of God’s creation. Stewards agree to table the statement, continue with the conversation, and review a further revised draft at a future Stewards meeting. The current working group will prepare the next draft.
Servant Leadership Working Group (SWLG) Preliminary Report – This report has been circulated to Stewards. A copy is attached to these minutes. Margreta presented a verbal summary of the report. Stewards discussed various aspects of the report. Additional comments can be sent to Sandra at sandra@seekerschurch.org. A further report, including specific recommendations, will be forthcoming as the SWLG continues its work.
State of Seekers as Seen by Stewards – Time did not permit discussion of this topic. Stewards who have not done so are encouraged to respond in writing to the questions that Marjory prepared as the basis of this conversation. Responses should be sent to Trish. These questions are as follows:
- What is happening in our body right now?
- What is coming to birth in us? How can we prepare for that?
- What will we need to change in order to care for this new birth? Who can help? What could my role be?
