Sermons
Seekers recognizes that any member of the community may be called upon by God to give us the Word, and thus we have an open pulpit with a different preacher each week. Sermons preached at Seekers, as well as sermons preached by Seekers at other churches or events, are posted here, beginning with the most recent.

Manna is a story about the “daily bread” that Jesus taught us to pray for. It is about God’s care for the people of the covenant. It is also about how the realm of God is like that who made sure everyone who worked in the vineyard got paid the same at the end of the day. When I was 15, my family moved to a much larger town. It was a very lonely time for me. Shortly after, I had several chances to play golf with a friend of my parents. He found the time to talk to me and pay special attention to me. I once asked him why he chose me. He said it was because I was the pick of the litter. Well, with five sisters in my family, it was the first time anyone had singled me out as special. When we were settled with coffee and juice in the outdoor patio that was our dining room, Dr. Vicky Guzman apologized for being late. “I didn’t sleep much last night,” she said, “because at midnight, I got a phone call — a death threat. Anonymous, of course.” Who do you say that I am? It is a dangerous question to ask. It is a question that always gives the one who answers enormous power to judge and to condemn — or to affirm and bless. The point question that Seekers needs to answer as we consider relocation is “How much can we afford?” Peter Bankson: Manna Does Not Mean Bread Alone
