REFLECTION

"The sense of belonging to a people, the covenant, with the commitment that it implies, are at the heart of community life… A community is never there for itself.  It belongs to something greater — to the poor, to humanity, to the church, to the universe.  It is a gift, a witness to offer to all."

                                                                                        Jean Vanier, Community & Growth

PRAYERS

  CONFESSION (Unison)

Often we expect too much of others in community life.

                We are quick to judge, reject, or put people into categories;

They often feel obliged to hide behind masks.

                We prevent each other from discovering and accepting ourselves

                  as we are.

O God, forgive us our selfish expectations.

  INDIVIDUAL PRAYERS OF CONFESSION

  ASSURANCE (Leader)

                Jealousies and insecurities are natural,

  not some kind of spiritual disease.

They are part of our wounded nature, part of our reality.

God accepts us as we are, and offers forgiveness and healing.
