REJOICE!

REFLECTION

Therefore my heart is glad, and my soul rejoices;
my body also rests secure.
You show me the path of life,
In your presence there is fullness of joy;
In your right hand are pleasures evermore.

Psalm 16:9, 11

PRELUDE

CALL TO WORSHIP

Unison:
Rejoice! Hallelujah!
Christ is risen.
Christ is risen, indeed.
Come, let us rejoice in God together!

SILENCE

LITANY

Leader:
Great God of Resurrection Morning,
Voice 1:
As You showed yourself to the disciples,
to the two Marys at the rolled-back stone,
to Thomas in the upper room,
to the ones on the road to Emmaus,
Voice 2:
So you show yourself to us
in one another’s faces,
in tears and in blessings,
in daily miracles, large and small.
Leader:
You show Yourself to us
in the birds and flowers of springtime,
in our pleasure in sunlight,
in all the gifts of your good earth.
Unison:
We rejoice in knowing that you love us,
that you rejoice in our love for one another,
that you are here among us.
Alive. The Risen Christ.

PRAYER

CONFESSION

Unison:
Holy God of Life Returned,
When we don’t see the Way,
When we think it is too hard to love,
to heal, to care,
We turn our backs on You.

Forgive our unjust angers,
our selfish desires,
our fears and our doubts.
Help us to know Your way,
Help us to live in You.

INDIVIDUAL PRAYERS OF CONFESSION

ASSURANCE

Leader:
God makes our hearts glad
and our souls rejoice
when we turn toward the path of life.
The joy of forgiveness is ours
when we rest in the presence of God. AMEN.
