Brenda Seat: Breaking the Mold to Resurrection

May 05, 2002

In March 2000, in Fukuoka, Japan, a young man was arrested for killing a blind masseuse for her insurance money. It was a shocking murder in a country that sees little violence, and even more tragic, because this woman had been raising her 9 year old daughter on her own, ever since her husband had passed away some years earlier. The young man, whose name is Tetsuya, was put in jail. However, Japan is country that holds not only the person who commits the crime responsible, but also the family of the perpetrator.
